Nokia today announced the 6700 Classic, an elegant handheld that follows-up the Nokia 6300, which was among Nokia's top sellers for many quarters.
Nokia's 6700 has a stainless steel body and full metal keymat. Improving on its forerunner, it offers an improved 5.0-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash and full-screen view finder to capture photos and videos. It comes with Uplink Noise Cancellation (UNC) technology to remove background noise so conversations can be heard more clearly. A built-in A-GPS receiver and Nokia Maps provides turn-by-turn navigation to find any destination. A 30 day "Drive & Walk" navigation license is included.
"The Nokia 6300 raised the bar in terms of design and premium materials when it arrived in 2006 and topped all sales records for a mid-range mobile phone," said Soren Petersen, Senior Vice President at Nokia. "The Nokia 6700 moves that bar even higher with a beautiful, slim design and perfectly balanced practicality."
The Nokia 6700 Classic will be released in the second quarter and have an estimated retail price of $310.
